Irene Sazer
Irene Sazer—violinist, composer, arranger, and singer—has developed a unique style of blending world and roots music with classical, jazz, and pop sensibilities. Educated at the Peabody Conservatory of Music, she is the founder of the Real Vocal String Quartet and one of the founding members of the Turtle Island String Quartet. She also has soloed at the Cabrillo Music Festival, served as concertmaster with the Baltimore Chamber Orchestra, and performed with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, San Francisco Symphony, and Oakland Symphony. She has recorded and performed with Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Charles, Billy Joel, Linda Ronstadt, Björk, Smokey Robinson, Jai Uttal, Ali Akbar Khan, Natalie Cole, Kitaro, David Grisman, and Maria Marquez.
